FAQ

Drop-off
Can I drop-off my packages at some other time?
We are a volunteer organization and have no rented storage space. There is nowhere to store your boxes before the loading.

Boxes
I don’t know where to find Egg-boxes. Can I use another box?
To keep costs down, we need to maximize the number of boxes in each container. The most important strategy we employ, is using all the same boxes, which gives us the ability to pack efficiently. Many grocery stores have spare egg crates and are happy to share with you. If you must use a different box, it will often cause a disproportionate loss of space in container, and we’d be forced to raise your cost to at least double, per box.

Distribution
When will boxes arrive in Israel?
When we book space on a shipping line, we are provided with an ETA. However, their schedule is often not-met due to varying weather and other conditions. We estimate 6 to 8 weeks from loading, and can update as we get closer. We’ll be updating our web-site with the most current information that we know.

Whom can I call in Israel to find out when boxes are arriving?
As a volunteer organization, we have no rented “office” in Israel and no employees. There is no-one to service your call. Your recipient in Israel will be contacted when Distribution is scheduled and if you signed up for it, you’ll be informed too. Feel free to reach out to us through our web-site, and we’ll do our best to respond as soon as we can.

Is there a service to deliver the boxes in Israel for a fee?
Not at this time.

The distribution time is not convenient. Can I pick it up some other time?
As distribution is done in a public venue, there is no option of not picking it up at that time. We have no warehouse, so, if not picked up at the scheduled time, your boxes will be irretrievably lost. As a consolation, I’d guess that it’ll end up being used by a needy family.

Shipping Cost
Since my boxes are tzedaka, do I still need to pay for its transport?
We have no fundraising mechanism to cover the cost of your shipment. Most of your fellow shippers are tzedaka organizations, and they each cover the cost of their transport.

Lost box
My recipient didn’t receive all the boxes that I sent, what should I do?
The Distribution scene is very busy and boxes are sometimes misplaced. You should immediately inform the people in charge of the distribution, who should be able to locate it for you. If it remains lost, be aware that it was most likely mistakenly taken by another tzedaka organization. Please inform us of this immediately so that we can try our best to locate it. If it stubbornly refuses to be found, please inform us of it and in line with our policy, you may be entitled to some compensation.
